Windows 11 — Installation & Activation
Your licence key was shown on the previous page and has also been emailed to you. Please check your spam or junk folder if you cannot find it.
This key can activate Windows 11 Home or Pro. If you want to keep Home, you do not need to upgrade to Pro.
Installing Windows 11
Download Windows 11 and follow Microsoft’s instructions:
https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
Activating Windows 11 Home or Pro
Connect to the internet, then go to Settings → System → Activation → Change product key. Enter your purchased licence key and follow the prompts.
Optional: Upgrade Windows 11 Home to Pro
No reinstall is needed. Your files and apps will be kept.
1. Disconnect from the internet
- Wi-Fi: Go to Settings → Network & internet and turn Wi-Fi off.
- Network cable: Unplug the Ethernet cable from your computer.
- If both are connected, turn Wi-Fi off and unplug the cable.
2. Switch Home to Pro
Go to Settings → System → Activation. Expand Upgrade your edition of Windows, if shown, then select Change beside Change product key.
Enter this generic upgrade key:
VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
Follow the prompts and restart your computer when asked.
This generic key only upgrades the edition; it does not activate Windows. “Not activated” may appear afterwards—this is normal.
3. Activate Pro
Turn Wi-Fi back on or reconnect your network cable.
Return to Settings → System → Activation → Change product key, enter your purchased licence key, and follow the prompts.
